In 1906, Leopold II set up the School for Tropical Diseases, mainly to treat people who had caught a disease in Congo. In Congo too, scientists carried out field work. Note by Dr J. Schwertz about the fight against malaria in Elisabethville (Lubumbashi), 1926.
