"Request for German maps. I would like to take them to Berlin. It is thus urgent", the king wrote in a letter to Strauch. Leopold II used different maps depending on his dialogue partner, in order to obtain what he wanted in a mist of diplomatic cloudiness. Microfilm copy of a letter from the sovereing to Strauch, 1883.
